Grand Isle, Louisiana located approximately
2 hours from New Orleans, LA is considered to be one of the ten
best fishing spots in the world and is often referred to as the
"Speckled Trout Capital of the World". The speckled
trout is the most sought after sport fish on the Gulf Coast and
can readily be caught by surf-fishing, bridge fishing, road side
fishing, pier fishing at night, and with the use of a boat on
oyster reefs and near-by offshore structures.
The Grand Isle Speckled Trout Rodeo is held on
Memorial Day weekend at Bridgeside Marina in Grand Isle, Louisiana.
Rodeo participants will enjoy three days of fishing, two meals
and live entertainment, door prizes on Friday, Saturday and Sunday
and the opportunity to win a total of 58 trophies. (all for $20.00
entry fee including cap).
